What is Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) The prostate is a male reproductive organ located adjacent to the bladder which surrounds the urethra, the tube which carries urine out of the body. BPH is a non-cancerous condition where the prostate enlarges and causes urinary symptoms. It is more common with increasing age: more than half of all men over age 60, and 8 of 10 over age 80 have BPH. What are the symtoms of BPH?
